Hey everyone. I'm Rich and along with my co-host Adam, I want to welcome you to the Idiots Seeking Village podcast. This is a podcast where Adam and I talk about current events and try to understand if we should care more about a subject or if it's just a distraction from other issues.

We believe that facts matter and that it's important that we discuss things honestly as they happen. Especially if they don't fit our preferred narrative or biases. Our goal here isn't to be partisan. It's to talk with people who are still thinking, who wanna understand and want context to frame important issues.

Instead of uniting the world with a single source of truth, the creation of the internet and modern media algorithms have created bubbles and siloed us in echo chambers. Our society is possibly more divided than it has ever been at any other crisis point. This is our effort to cut through and try to find common ground.

Do you ever wonder what you would've done during some unprecedented world events? Well, you're doing it right now. Too often we find ourselves just feeling crushed because we can't stop seeing the obvious BS there's a whole machinery of distraction specifically designed to leave us feeling hopeless.

If you are here, remember this, it isn't working on you. We think that being challenged makes us uncomfortable. And uncertain, but that gives us an opportunity to start manifesting something worthwhile by thinking differently about the world around us. The fundamental truth of the world is that it's something that we made and we can just as easily make it differently. Intellectual curiosity, self-awareness and empathy are forms of resistance.

And are bad for those in power. Each time you refuse to look away, every small act of giving a damn. When you're supposed to be numb, you're pushing the lines forward. Discomfort isn't weakness. It's the frontier of something better trying to break through. It's your mind refusing to accept that this broken world is all that is possible.

Deep down, we all know something better exists. The present is ugly and the future is unwritten. Adam and I are focused on telling the stories of the world around us, understanding why and how it was made so we can start to create a better world for ourselves and those who come after us.

So join us every week. Our show will be on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon, and wherever you get podcasts, our socials will be kept up to date in our show notes and bio, and you'll be able to find us at villageidiotsmedia.com

Look forward to having you. Cheers.
